2013 Chairman’s Award was presented to the staff of the Communications Division of the Department of Home Affairs. The award was accepted by Myles Ellis, Technical Officer.

In January and again in March members manned the Centenary Station on behalf of the RSGB. This is the station at the TT Grandstand on Monday 4th March prior to the huge 7 hour pileup!

IOMARS used the call sign "GT4WAB" for the Olympic torch relay in 2012. Many members assisted with the station and we worked a huge number of station in the UK, Europe and USA.

IOMARS members took part in the Practical Wireless 2m QRP contest during 2012. Working from the Service Reservoir at Ballaragh (Lonan) a great many contacts in this our first proper contest in years, was rewarded with 11th place overall.

Our annual trip to Eary Cushlin was a great weekend once again - thanks to Mike GD0HYM for organising once again. We are already planning next years buildathon!

We travelled to the National Hamfest, and thanks to the hard work of some members we raised enough money to purchase two new Yaesu FT897D radios. Many thanks also go to Lee Marsh at LAM Communications for the great deal he gave us.

Thanks to Dave Osborn GD4HOZ we have a great repeater system on the island. GB3IM has internet connectivity, and GB3GD will soon be back to full power on Snaefell.
